Ria was the smallest girl in
that litter but MJ knew it was
her girl from day one. When it
was time for MJ to pick her girl
she swept red girl up in her
arms and never looked back. Ria might of been small but her
attitude was BIG. After she
easily earned the companion dog
(CD) title she and MJ focused
their attention on Rally
Obedience.
Rally obedience is comprised
of going to various stations and
doing the exercises that are
dictated on each sign. Well
Rally turned out to be Ria's
forte. Ria quickly earned the
Rally Novice (RN), Rally Advance
(RA) and Rally Excellent (RE)
titles. Soon what started out as
"just for fun" turned into we
are going for the Rally Advance
Excellent (RAE). The RAE title
requires 10 qualifies scores on
the same day in both rally
advance and rally excellent
classes Before they knew it the
team earned the RAE and were
having so much fun supporting
local clubs and doing trials
that soon they found the RAE2
title was within their grasp!
Ria's focus is not only on
rally but she also ventures out
in the agility ring and the
tracking fields as well. She has
shown great promise in both but
she and MJ are still in the
learning stage. MJ often states
Ria had another mother she would
of had a lot more titles by now.
It doesn't matter to Ria though-
she is having fun in these
venues and is not the least bit
concerned if she if titles are
ever earned or not.
MJ and Ria really show what
team work is all about. It is
not always about getting ribbons
and titles- but having fun
making great accomplishments
with your best friend. Big
thanks to MJ for having so much
with Ria- and reminding us all
of the true reason for doing
performance activities with our
best friends!
